Child at computer

Programs

Primary Program: Integrated Education and Therapy

The Integrated Education and Therapy Program is a head start program for children aged four to six with a range of physical disabilities.  Physical, occupational and speech therapies are integrated into the child’s classroom program.  The teachers, parents and therapists work together to establish learning and therapy goals and share the responsibility of integrating the student’s individually set goals into the daily curriculum.  This learning environment maximizes a child’s physical, intellectual and social potential and encourages the child to develop a sense of personal responsibility in the acquisition of skills.

Augmentative and alternative communication systems, adapted technology and computer systems are used in the classrooms to provide access to the curriculum for all students.

Children in the Integrated Education and Therapy Program benefit from:

  • Small classes staffed with a Special Education teacher, educational assistants and therapeutic professionals
